Majority of the continent is nothing but ice and undisturbed minerals. But there does exist nonnative life, such as the few thousand scientists at such research stations as the McMurdo and Amundsen-Scott South Pole, the American stations for logistics and an assortment of other things; Halley, the British station for atmospheric measurements; and the Princess Elisabeth, the Belgian polar station for climate change.
